History of Thorncroft Manor
Thorncroft was one of the two feudal manors of Leatherhead from Norman times. It was occupied in the 16th century by Robert Gardiner, Sergeant of the Wine Cellar to Elizabeth I. The Manor was taken down and re-built in its current form in 1776, with the modern mirrored annex adjoining the stable block added in the 70s. The building is Grade II Listed.
