Coronavirus (COVID-19) update
Last updated 13 December 2021.
We’re open for business
In line with government guidance, some of our specialist solicitors and support staff are working remotely with full access to our systems. These channels are encrypted to protect data in accordance with our privacy policy. A team of staff remain at our office in Leatherhead.
Response times
To take into account possible delay, we will now aim to respond to communications within 4 working days rather than our usual 2.
Summary of current policies
With coronavirus dominating the news this is a summary of the policies we have put in place to enable us to keep operating so we can keep things moving for our clients:
The health, safety and well-being of our staff and clients is paramount.
Any staff member who would like to work remotely will do so. Staff who cannot work from home or who feel they work more effectively at our physical office may do so.
At the office:
On a daily basis we are sanitising key areas of frequent hand contact.
Staff are to wash their hands on arrival and at frequent intervals during the working day. Staff have access to hand sanitiser too.
The use of hand towels and tea towels will be discontinued for the time being.
Staff are keeping their desks clear, cleansed and sanitised. We are reinforcing our clear desk policy to facilitate this additional cleaning.
The office is cleaned daily. The office and communal areas at Thorncroft Manor are fogged with anti-virus disinfectant every week.
Our office is closed to the public. We are able to facilitate face-to-face or virtual meetings.
We are able to arrange contactless witnessing of documents at our office such as wills, lasting powers of attorney and transfers.
Where meetings are held, we ask staff and clients to maintain a personal distance of 2 metres and staff will be provided with a mask and gloves to wear. We would be grateful if any clients who are able to wear a face covering wear one upon entering Thorncroft Manor and for the duration of the time they meet with any of our staff.
We are actively seeking new clients and work. We will continue our mission to start a conversation with our clients by encouraging meetings held over the telephone. All of our work can be started, progressed and completed remotely by phone, email, post, video conferencing and fax.
We are encouraging our staff and clients to continue to support other local independent businesses like ours through these extraordinary circumstances.
As responsible employers and business owners we are committed to taking reasonable further precautions within our control to help while maintaining our business services.
We will review our policies on a daily basis as events unfold and in line with medical and government advice.
We hope all of our clients, colleagues and friends are able to stay safe and well during this crisis. If there is anything we can help you with at this time, please do not hesitate to let us know.
