At Julie West Solicitors, we have been enjoying weekly virtual concerts created by Peter Steadman, Leatherhead Concert and Arts Society Concert Manager.

Undaunted by the fact that he cannot welcome the usual lunchtime audience to Leatherhead’s Methodist Church on Thursdays or to the United Reformed Church for monthly organ recitals, Peter has put together a themed selection of music each week and distributed it by email to LCAS members and subscribers.

It is not only the music that entertains but Peter’s quirky commentaries on the music, its performance and historical context.

Since lockdown began and we started working from home, we have enjoyed concerts on the theme of St George’s Day, May Day and VE Day as well as a piano recital and organ recital. The bonus is we haven’t had to leave our desks for the concerts – we can listen to them at any time and compare notes with each other afterwards.

We are proud to be sponsors of LCAS’s weekly concerts and were particularly pleased recently that, through them, we were able to fund additional work on a piano donated to Leatherhead's Trinity Primary School.

We’re looking forward to the return of local live concerts but in the meantime, thank you Peter for providing a delightful online musical fix!

If you would like to receive LCAS email newsletters containing a
