Julie qualified as a solicitor in October 1985.
Founded Julie West Solicitors in 2004.
Julie is an expert in all aspects of residential and commercial property law. She relishes investigating and solving problems that others are unable or unwilling to take on.
Recent specialist work includes:
Providing expert evidence and running a negligence claim for clients who bought a flat with a failed leasehold scheme.
Claim by adverse possession of unregistered land after death of occupying owners, where part of the land was rented.
Purchase of a field with development potential under intense pressure to complete within a short timescale.
Solving title issues with a new-build estate of high value properties.
Providing ongoing advice to residents’ management companies.
Sale and leaseback of commercial property.

Training
Julie studied English and Law at Trinity Hall at Cambridge University (2:1) followed by her law finals at the College of Law Guildford.
Before setting up Julie West Solicitors in 2004, Julie spent 12 years working throughout Surrey as a freelance locum solicitor, 5 years in high street practice and 4 years with top City firm Herbert Smith, now Herbert Smith Freehills, where she trained and qualified.
Outside the office
Julie is a volunteer trustee of a charitable property trust in Leatherhead. She also helped form a very successful charity helping disadvantaged young people. Julie enjoys mentoring and believes work experience, particularly with an independent business, gives young people a great start.
In her spare time Julie enjoys singing with ladies acapella group Vocal Dimension Chorus and walking in the Surrey Hills.
